Why Take This Course?

The Academy will awaken consciousness about the legacies of colonialism, the slave trade, and post-colonial government. We make you aware that there is a vacancy in your thinking. You might find yourself feeling speechless, confused, and even upset.

The Academy will show you diverse African centered perspectives on a range of social, economic, and political topics. We will explore politics, food, medicine, arts, fashion, and so much more. Here, you will wonder, ‘Why have I not known this for so long? ‘What do I do with this? ‘What next’?

Your consciousness has been awoken and you have explored multiple perspectives. You will now be wondering, ‘How can I apply this thinking to other areas of life? How can I use my indigenous knowledge systems to set the pace in a fast growing, globally competitive, and technological adept world?

Knowledge becomes really powerful when it is put into action. Is it in starting an initiative, amplifying your voice for a cause, or digging deeper to excavate new knowledge?
The Academy will inspire you, connect you to like-minded people, and support you to take action.
