RIAH EDUCATION SUMMIT COMMUNIQUE
THE SUMMIT
Themed “African-Centered Perspective: A Pathway to Equity, Excellence, and Social Transformation“. This event brought over 700 education stakeholders from across Nigeria and the continent at large to Lagos state on June 22- 23, 2023 to explore and celebrate the rich diversity of African-centered perspectives in education. Attendees included policy makers, researchers , diplomats, students, teachers, thought leaders, school owners and civil society amongst others.
RIAH Education Summit Teacher Training
As part of the RIAH Education Summit, 242 teachers and school leaders from Lagos State Ministry of Education and Teach for Nigeria network were exposed to an experiential training program in African-centered perspectives and its application to teaching and practice. Our main facilitators were the renowned couple and owners (Engr. Oku and Dr. Utheri Kanayo) of the 1st African-centered school in Africa – Children in Freedom School, Nakuru, Kenya.
