Every nation determines its own destiny; the clever the nation, the better the fate! – Mehmet Murat Ildan.
Every time you browse the internet, watch the news or read a newspaper, do you feel content with what you have read, heard or seen about Nigeria? Do you think Nigeria can be better than what it currently is? Is there a problem in your community that needs fixing? Is it something you could fix by yourself? Or do you have to catch the attention of specific bodies, which are capable enough to solve this problem in your community?
These are just some of the questions UVA would like Nigerian teenagers to ask and reflect on during this month of Independence. We want you to put your imagination to good use. We want you to share with us what your ideal Nigeria is and how you plan on making it better. Tell us and the world, what your dream Nigeria is- it could be 24/7 constant power supply, good roads, political tolerance, better drainage or a corruption free country.
From 10th to 27th of October, UVA is inviting you all to share
your dreams and hopes for Nigeria. To partake in this exciting campaign, follow these simple steps:
1. Visit DoSomething Nigeria’s Website (https://nigeria.dosomething.org/). 2. Create a DoSomething account. (Once you create an account, you would be able to participate in other subsequent campaigns) 3. Click on “My Nigeria is” campaign 4. Sign up and follow the instructions on there.
It is your community, your state, and your country. It will only be as good as you want it to be. It is time for us as citizens to start taking active ownership and responsibility for the Nigeria we want to see.
Sign up and tell us what your Nigeria is?
